The DSP 9000 half duplex and full duplex Operation, Installation and Field Maintenance Training course covers a broad range of topics that deal with the operation and preventative and corrective maintenance procedures required to ensure the proper installation, set-up, operation and support of the DSP 9000 products. The course includes an overview description of the unit operation. Troubleshooting methods, including the use of built-in-test are described in order to train the student in performing corrective maintenance at the unit level. The material is presented using a combination of technical lectures and hands-on student exercises. After successfully completing the course, the student will have acquired the skills necessary to complete the installation, operation and field maintenance of the DSP 9000 HD/FD. Evidence of the skills acquired will be demonstrated using both a hands-on approach and a written examination.
Prerequisites
In order to acquire an adequate level of knowledge from the course offered by TCC, each student must possess a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English, primarily in a technical context. A basic knowledge of factors affecting systems integration and performance, and of audio frequency electronic communications devices and accessories is also required. Experience in testing at the manufacturing or engineering level would be helpful.

The DSP 9000 HS Installation and Operation Training course covers a broad range of topics that deal with installation and configuration procedures required to ensure the proper operation of the DSP 9000 handset. A description of the built in tests is described in order to train the student to perform diagnostics.
Prerequisites
In order to acquire an adequate level of knowledge from the course offered by TCC, each student must possess a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English, primarily in a technical context. A basic knowledge of digital and analog devices is also required.
Course Length and Delivery Method

This course introduces the techniques of cryptographic algorithm evaluation and applies them to A20, the encryption algorithm used in the DSP 9000. The methodology of algorithm evaluation is taught, including specific advanced techniques such as statistical analysis, random walks, and linear cryptanalysis. Training in the TCC evaluation tools SE9001W and SKTS is provided. The design of A20 is examined, as well as the mathematics underlying A20 customization.
On completion, students will understand the methodology of cryptographic evaluation, be introduced to specific cryptanalytic approaches, and be trained in the use of evaluation tools. They will have examined the design of A20 and be capable of evaluating their own customized versions. The intended audience are cryptographers who desire further training in the subject, will be evaluating cryptographic algorithms, or will be customizing the DSP 9000 algorithm.
Prerequisites
Each student should possess a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English in a technical context. The student should be comfortable running applications in a Windows® environment. Some experience with cryptography, mathematics, programming or abstract concepts is required.

This course covers a broad range of topics that deal with preventative and corrective maintenance procedures required to ensure the proper operation of the DSP 9000 products. The course includes an overview description of the unit operation. Troubleshooting methods, including the use of built-in-test equipment, are described in order to train the student to perform corrective and routine maintenance, and replace any damaged pieces and non-functioning modules. After successfully completing the course, the student will have acquired the skills necessary to complete module-level maintenance and repairs of the DSP 9000.

In order to acquire an adequate level of knowledge from the course offered by TCC, each student must possess a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English, primarily in a technical context. TCC’s DSP 9000 Operation, Installation and Field Maintenance Training course is a required prerequisite to this course. A basic knowledge of digital and analog devices is also required. Experience in testing at the manufacturing or engineering level would be helpful.

This course trains the user on the operation, configuration and installation of the Crypto Management System for the DSP 9000 and HSE 6000 radio encryption products and the CSD 3324E/SE secure telephone systems. After completing this course, students will have acquired a good understanding of all the functions and capabilities of the Crypto Management System and have the skills necessary to be able to successfully install and operate it. The intent of the course is to allow the student to immediately transfer the skills learned in the course to the working environment. Evidence of the skills acquired will be demonstrated through hands-on exercises.

In order to acquire an adequate level of knowledge from this course, each student should possess a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English primarily in a technical context. A basic knowledge of electronic devices as well as a good technical background in electronics is required. The student should also have a basic understanding of Windows operating systems and program installations on Windows platforms.

Secure Telephone and Fax
The CSD 3324 SE Installation, Operation and Maintenance Level II Training course instructs on the operation, configuration, installation and field replaceable units of the CSD 3324 SE product. Troubleshooting through use of the built-in diagnostics is described to train the student to identify hardware errors and perform simple corrective procedures on the CSD 3324 SE.
The objective of this course is to provide the students with the skills necessary so that they will be able to successfully install, operate and maintain the CSD 3324 SE. After successfully completing the course, the student will have acquired a good understanding of all the interconnections, controls and indications of the unit. In addition, all aspects of key management of the unit will be taught. The intent of the course is to allow the student to immediately transfer the skills learned in the course to the working environment. Evidence of the skills acquired will be demonstrated through hands-on exercises.

TCC offers training on the installation, operation, maintenance and cryptography of the CSD 3324 SP secure phone/fax, CSD 3324 SPV secure phone and the CSD 3324 SPF secure fax device. The course covers both the deployment and use of the CSD 3324 SP/SPV/SPF products, and also presents key concepts in cryptography as they apply to the products. Students will understand:
- Cryptographic basics and how the CSD 3324 SP/SPV/SPF secures voice and fax calls
- How to install, configure and operate a secure phone system using CSD 3324 SP/SPV/SPF
- How to maintain a CSD 3324 SP/SPV/SPF based secure phone system
- How to troubleshoot CSD 3324 SP/SPV/SPF systems

This course reviews the historical development of cryptographic algorithms, and introduces the cryptographic designs used in the CSD 3324 secure desktop phones. Models E, SE, and SP are covered. On completion, students will understand how cryptographic algorithms evolved, and be familiar with modern approaches including those used in the CSD 3324 product line. The intended audience are security evaluators and technical management who require greater knowledge of the algorithms deployed.

Each student should possess a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English in a technical context. Comfort with mathematics, programming or abstract concepts is desirable.

Three-day lecture-based training
This TCC training course covers the installation, operation, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of the CSD 4100 executive-style secure telephone and the KCA 4000 Key Certificate Authority computer-based electronic workstation. The material is presented using a combination of technical lectures and hands-on student exercises. The student will be required to demonstrate the skills acquired by participating in the generation and loading of the various keys into the CSD 4100 and the saving of key files in the KCA 4000. Additionally, there will be written and practical exercises.

Secure Network
The DSD 72A-SP Installation and Operation Training course covers a broad range of topics pertaining to the installation and operation of the DSD 72A-SP bulk encryption system. The TCC Centralized Crypto Management System (CCMS) for DSD 72A-SP units will be covered in detail to provide the student with a complete understanding of its operation and the key generation process. The generation of DEKs, KEKs, MKEKs and configuration parameters will be covered, as well as general key management theory. In addition, the student will learn to diagnose a system fault down to the unit level. Module replacement will also be covered. Students will:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of all the manuals given during the course, associated test equipment used, and all the procedures necessary to perform error-free installations and operation of the DSD 72A-SP bulk encryption unit.
- Be able to perform preventative and corrective maintenance of the system down to the unit level.
- Be capable of starting and running the Centralized Crypto Management System.
Prerequisites
In order to acquire an adequate level of knowledge from this course, each student must possess a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English, primarily in a technical context. Basic knowledge of analog and digital circuitry, along with experience with test and/or measurement equipment is also required. We assume no prior experience working on, or with TCC bulk encryption products, but do assume that all trainees have a minimum background in electronics (preferably at the technician level) to satisfactorily troubleshoot equipment in the field. Trainees are also expected to be familiar with personal computers, as well as have a basic understanding of standard operating systems and the use of the Windows operating system. Experience in testing at the manufacturing/engineering levels (or higher) will be required to adequately support TCC products in the field.

The Model 70 Test System Installation and Operation Training course covers a broad range of topics pertaining to the installation, configuration and operation of the Model 70 Test System. A combination of classroom theory and discussion, followed by hands-on practice with problem-solving questions, helps ensure that the student learns and retains the necessary skills to maintain daily operations of the equipment. Troubleshooting through use of predefined and user-defined tests are described and performed in order to train the student to identify hardware errors and perform troubleshooting procedures using the Model 70. The material for these sections is presented using a minimal amount of technical lectures, and a large amount of hands-on exercises.
Prerequisites
In order to acquire an adequate level of knowledge from the Model 70 Test System course, each student must possess a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English, primarily in a technical context. Each student should possess a basic understanding of DSD72A-SP products and terminology and security-related terms and principles. Students should have a technical background in debugging electronic circuits to the component level and basic knowledge of digital and analog devices. Experience in testing, configuring and basic troubleshooting is required. Knowledge of test and/or measurement equipment is also required. We assume no prior experience working on, or with TCC bulk encryption products or the Model 70 Test System, but do assume that all trainees have a minimum background in electronics (preferably at the technician level) to satisfactorily troubleshoot equipment in the field. Trainees are also expected to be familiar with personal computers, as well as have a basic understanding of standard operating systems and the use of Windows. Experience in testing at the manufacturing/engineering levels (or higher) will be required to adequately support TCC products in the field. Students should also have an understanding of Windows operating systems, isolating failing assemblies or components, tracing circuit paths and understanding circuit behavior, and reading and understanding schematics and assembly drawings.

This course covers the operation, configuration and installation of the Cipher X 7211 IP encryption product. Troubleshooting through the Cipher X 7211 encryption system is described in order to train the student to identify hardware errors and perform simple corrective procedures. After completion of the course, the student will have acquired the skills necessary to completely install and operate the Cipher X 7211 IP encryption system. Evidence of the skills acquired will be demonstrated through hands-on exercises.

To acquire an adequate level of knowledge from this course, each student should have a basic understanding of IP network equipment and terminology; security-related terms and principles; program installations on Windows platforms; LANS, WANS, and internetworking; routers and other networking devices. Additionally, the student must have experience in testing, configuring and basic troubleshooting of IP networks.

This course covers a broad range of topics pertaining to the installation, operation and maintenance of the DSD 72B-SP encryption system. KEYNET Optical Manager is also covered in detail. Additionally, the student will learn to diagnose a system fault down to the unit level. Covered in detail is the generation of keys, configuration parameters and general key management theory. A combination of classroom theory and discussion, followed by hands-on practice with problem-solving questions, helps ensure that the student learns and retains the necessary skills to maintain daily operations of the equipment. Upon completion of the course, the student will have a comprehensive understanding of all the manuals given during the course, associated test equipment used, and all the procedures necessary to perform error-free installations and operation of DSD 72B-SP. The student will also be capable of performing preventive and corrective maintenance of the system.

The course contains an overview of the encryption methods implemented on the Cipher X 7100 frame relay and Cipher X 7200 IP encryption products. It describes the technique used for the generation of random numbers, use of initialization vectors, encryption and decryption techniques and message formats for inter-unit secure circuit creation and key exchanges. It also includes information about KEYNET II messaging for key exchanges and secure SNMP messages. The Cipher X 7000 KEYNET II is covered providing an overview of the KEYNET II with Security Vault used for key and device management of the Cipher X 7100 and Cipher X 7200 encryptors in the same network.

In order to acquire an adequate level of knowledge from this course, each student should possess a basic understanding of network products and terminology, and security-related terms and principles. Experience in testing, configuring and basic troubleshooting of networks is helpful. Students should also have a basic understanding of the following: Windows XP Pro and Vista Operating Systems; program installations on these operating systems; LANs, WANS, internetworking, Routers, Hubs and FRADS (for frame relay).
